I use either SAW pouches or those "Deployment" molle bags strapped to the web belt. If you have mags to spare, and can afford to drop and ditch, then a drop-pouch is not-needed. However, I have at least one drop-pouch on every rig to at least offset and hold one empty mag to free up the remainder of my "slots" to rotate mags effectively. Blackhawk makes a nice range of vests. I have a vest that can even fit the 30rd FAL mags I have. It's an OMEGA vest (not a cross draw). NICE!!! I can use FAL, AK or AR mags with ease. Very versitile. Anyway, if your drop pouch can fit at least 1 or 2 empties, I say keep it. | |||
