My buddy Dennis gave me the webspace to host the blog. His is down as well and he's currently attacking customersupport with a medieval siege engine, demanding the problem be solved ASAP.

Yeah, helpdesks are a complete contradiction to what they do, which is NOT help.  They just divert attention and befuddle one to forget about whatever ails them.

There is a term we Americans call people like this:

Heh I used to do helpdesk work for a bank. Well I did actually help people so I guess I was the exception.
